Ana Paula de Barcellos Joins Firm as Foreign Legal Consultant

We are pleased to announce that Ana Paula de Barcellos has joined our New York office as Senior Foreign Legal Consultant.  Ana Paula is admitted to practice law in Brasil, and is admitted as a foreign legal consultant in New York State.

 
Ana Paula has a distinguished career both in private practice and in academia. As a partner in a major Brasilian law she has more than 15 years experience advising and representing clients in litigation and transactional matters.  Major corporations, both Brasilian and foreign, have turned to her for advice in areas such as government contracts, foreign investment, telecommunications, infrastructure, energy, transportation and maritime law. She has extensive experience in the Civil and Administrative Courts in Brasil.

 
Ana Paula is a Professor of Constitutional Law at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and the Escola de Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ).  She is a visiting lecturer at the Universidade Candido Mendes in Rio de Janeiro and a frequent Guest Lecturer at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Yale School of Latin American Legal Studies. She has authored two books and numerous articles on a variety of legal topics.

 
Ana Paula graduated with a degree in law from UERJ where she also later earned a Masters degree in Public Law (maxima cum laude) and an S.J.D. in Juridical Science. She recently concluded a postdoctoral research program at the Harvard School of Public Health.
